AI Summary
This is a possible development, and feed back is requested.
The idea is to set up a local AI server, and use this to create an index and summary of all user files on a PC, or a disk. It will just look at files such as .DOC/X, PDF and images (jpg, tif)
The summary will be as requested by the user - ie you can select your prompt from a very simple one, to a complex one.
The initial results will be saved as HTML documents, but a data base structure will also be considered, along with JSON and MarkDown.
Performance depends on hardware. A laptop with no Nvidia graphics card could be slow, a PC with a good graphics card, currently we are looking at a few seconds per image or page.
Being totally local, it will be free to use, and totally confidential - data will never leave your PC. Scanning, once started will be completely automatic so although it is not as fast as maybe ChatGPT, it will churn though hundreds of files each hour, unattended.
The purpose is a simple audit of your files. It can help find where certain information is, and describe your photos. Where possible details such as GPS location will included
