Discover how many duplicate photos on a PC or network
For many users, photos are a very important part of their PC storage. Loosing photos can be stressful and upsetting. Thus it is important to make sure you have backups, but at the same time, you don't want multiple copies on a single drive. CnW-FM solves these problems.
- Start by downloading the software in the link above.
- Install by clcking on the program cnwfm_install.exe and typcially accept the default values.
- Launch the program and wait for it to scan your local drives
- Select the drive to examine, or use Ctrl Left click to select multiple drives
- Choose the option 'Scan for duplicate files'
- Choose type of match - for many cases 'Match on file names and size only' will be totally adequate.
- In the duplication selection options, click on 'Photos jpg' etc button

- Select OK with requitred selections
- Program will run
- For a single drive scan, the message 'Drive inventory complete' will be displayed
- Click on the drive to viw duplicate files - must be one that was scanned.
- The results are now displayed in the lower part of the screen
The image above is the result of a scan to include photos on multiple drives, including E: and Z: You can see it detects duplicate files on different drives. It also highlights a point that files may have the same file name but can be different. In this case there are photos with the ame name img_0756.jpg but taken 6 years apart. Having a different size and CRC value, you will see they are grouped as a separate pair.
